For a national document classification system to work, all medical documents sent outside their originating system need to have certain attributes as part of the transport standard being used.
Proposal: Document metadata MUST contain an appropriate numeric identifier from the Canadian Document Ontology.
· “Appropriate”: the content of the document matches the common interpretation of the Long Common Name or the definition defined by Canadian Document Ontology.
· Must contain: A Canadian Display Name
· MAY contain: Part axis values and identifier, Local Name, Other display names
Suggestion to add: The title of the document should match the content as well as add information about the document not already contained in the document type.
